are you really reeling? We all explode, we all die. how can we fight it? Can I go on? Can I cry? sit near the river to gross disgust under rock structures how can we fight it? turn the page already Awash in autumn. under rock structures sit near the river It all went olive. incredible world unfolding through pages of trust we’re getting the steady love of none The ice rink left. It fled our lives. Awash, despondent. The water fell. fall in quick shallow holes of being cloned protection camo looks stuck in trenches unilateral approach to you privacy The 40 fell. It all turned olive. The water fell. The whole town swelled. Awash in autumn. The sky came down. Let down. Slow down. The Whole town swelled. Awash in autumn.

Demented quiet. Bow down and so. Why can’t Christ Oh sweet God’s grace. I am All Christ. So we say Grace. (Let the lord shine down on my face) I’m Great. about how you were really reeling breathe as breath needed and please play sambas in time with stretched meter fleeting waning variations about how you were really reeling breathe as breath needed and please about how you were really reeling breathe as breath needed and please need him; nothing i was looking for i need him nothing i was looking for nothing i was looking for cut from living corpse, a living child for a life without suffering second chance pray my faith is true

Lot 03:35
“Ice Set 4000” Wrote those paper notes (hoping they’d mean something) weeks ago and I pretended to cry. Poured out. And I spent 4000. I tried from four thousand miles, i really, And I tried from four thousand. My brother eats the rind. take my money and go because really true but are you feeling really real perhaps and you’ll tell me that while writing this After all this. its a universal lot i located. been looking for so long didn't know. ill fated. and little too. nobody else is there. i don't really know. but i definitely care. what difference does it make? 4 secs to the show. wanna extort a prime minister of Rome. stain the senate halls in the murderer’s blood Waited inhibition to set, see. im always at the park by the Square i met you very very briefly there i listen to the heavens and the shift of the Square i always at the park by the Square im lost at the park by the Square i met you very very briefly there i move through Meilleur. i listened to the hornets in the shift of the Square the best. i have heard, lunch counters locked away. save for another day. holiday decor it fell. all the cages, windowsills aren’t.

at the river in a lake, in a field where i meditate at the crossroads where we forget at the river in a lake, in a field where i meditate in under while we forget scared of bad dreams if only i could trace it back to lost in a cold room it’s kind of an irony scared of bad dreams if only i could trace it back to lost in a cold room it’s kind of an irony

I was dying to know where you went. I was dying to know where you were. i encourage you i encourage Flung into split concrete. Beyond the boards, an ocean rolled. Oasis run deep. Perpendicular sunset. On both sides of the street water all flowed from east to west. The 40 flowing lush dreams. 40 fell on my street. parallel laces All the way to Mars’ tracks, the parking lot where land stands. 40 flowing lush dreams 40 fell on my street. couldn’t we trust that the death would suffice the cost they gave was grave and loss hung round my name hung round my neck scared of bad dreams if only i could trace it back to lost in a cold room it’s kind of an irony scared of bad dreams if only i could trace it back to lost in a cold room it’s kind of an irony

This is the end of us, if it's not obvious. We've grown, and grown apart. And the impact you made, it bears the weight of the heaviest rain. And scars. It's a reckoning. Got me questioning what the fuck I've done. And whether the fuck I've won.

about

Montreal duo Bas Relief present a collection of rough-cut IDM and pitch-corrected emo on Insulary, a five-song EP. Written and compiled long distance from threads of bass music-inspired alt pop and guitar recorded in isolation, Insulary is the duo’s first substantial release since 2018. Granulated microglitches fill out the digital drum arrangements, calling on influences Baths and Loraine James, overlaid with warm piano progressions, melancholic guitar loops, collaged vocal production, and forlorn vocals hazed like a shapeshifted memory.

Bas Relief have been making music together since childhood, their music evoking a sentimentality and nostalgia rooted in a deep, interwoven history of two lifelong friends and collaborators. Originally cutting their teeth in math rock and emo bands – one is a member of Gulfer and the other at Topshelf Records - their rich, singular, sound has since landed somewhere between emo, IDM, and UK bass.

Insulary EP is out June 14 on Quiet Time; vinyl EP will hit shops and our bandcamp shortly after.
